Standard photochromic lenses are not polarized. They darken in response to UV light but do not reduce glare in the same way polarized lenses do. Transitions® XTRActive® lenses get deeper outdoor tint and offer slightly better glare comfort than signature photochromic lenses, but they are not polarized. Most standard photochromic lenses do not fully activate inside a car because windshields block much of the UV light required for activation. Transitions® XTRActive® lenses are designed to perform better behind a windshield, making them a preferred option for driving and extended time on the road.
